What is a Consultation and how could it benefit you?
A Consultation with Advanced means having an expert on your team who is able to give their opinion on a property you are considering through the lens of an experienced home builder. Whether you are looking for your own home or an investment property, we will use our experience and expertise to help you achieve your goals and start off on the right path.

For someone looking to buy a house or property for themselves or their family, teaming up with Advanced can mean the difference of buying a property only to not have enough in the budget to complete the desired updates and instead living in a fixer upper that just isn’t right - potentially for years… or confidently choosing the right home from the start and having the remaining budget to turn it into your dream home before moving in. It can also mean having a practical plan in place of how you are going to create your dream home, what budget it would require, and strategically moving towards your goal instead of just hoping for the best.

Our Consultation is a low cost / high value service to assist you in making an educated and informed property purchase. Akin to shopping for a used car alongside an expert mechanic with your best interests in mind. Together we will discuss your goals and hopes, and assess if the property you’re considering is a good fit, or not.

How does Advanced view the property?

Consultations can be done virtually or by meeting on-site at the property to do a walkthrough. If you have any floor plans, photos, soil or geographical reports for the property please email them and we will review them with you. Some of our clients make a day out of it and line up multiple properties in one day and we will go to each one to weigh the pros and cons of each.
What does it cost?

The price for the consultation varies depending on length and location. Consultations begin at $360 per property.

Continued consultation service can also be arranged. For example, you consult with Advanced pre-purchase, buy the home, and during the design process you want your architect to meet with us again to make sure we are on budget and on track for your goals. This would be a follow up consultation as we are still not under contract. That’s right - you are not obligated to hire us for the actual work in order to take advantage of our consultation service!
Are there any guarantees?

You are guaranteed to leave the consultation more knowledgeable and confident in your decision. You will know what you should look for in a property, and why. Our consultation is not a substitute for an inspection, or working with an architect and/or engineer. There are a million moving parts when building or remodeling, we simply cannot know everything at first glance, but what we can do is offer our 18+ years of experience in home building, and 20+ years of experience in real estate, to assist you in your decision making process so you are more informed and certain of the property you choose.
Do promotions or discounts apply to the Consultation?

No, we try to keep our consultation fee low as courtesy to our current, and potential future, clients. We want this service to be as accessible as possible. For this reason, the Consultation fee is excluded from other discounts or promotions.
Do you have experience with HPOZ (Historic Preservation Overlay Zone) Homes?

Yes, Advanced is experienced working on historical homes and has a specialized team of artesian tradespeople who work specifically with historical properties.
Do you have experience with hillside construction or properties on sloped land?

Yes, Advanced Builders & Contractors has experience with hillside construction. While it is nearly impossible to know exactly what we are dealing with until we break ground on a hillside property, with our experience with hillside properties we can help you make an informed decision and provide tips backed with experience that could result in huge savings of both time and money. We once received building plans that were being drafted, and after consulting with Advanced, we were able to consult with the architect and have the home turned slightly which resulted in saving over $200,000. Hillside properties are a specialized type of construction and not for the beginner contractor. If you are looking at hillside or sloped land, consult an expert who has experience with such construction.
How do I book a consultation with Advanced?

Fill out our “Request an Estimate” form with the address of the property you are considering and let us know in the notes any other properties you are looking at as well as any details you can share about your goals, budget, etc. We will reach out to you and book your consultation. You may also call our main line and we can take your information that way. We will contact you to book your consultation(s) promptly.

Our intention is to take the guesswork out of whether you should choose a certain property, or find something more suitable.
