Monday, August 19th, 2019

open-concept-kitchenThe open-concept floorplan is one of the trendiest designs for modern homes, either in new construction or as part of a large-scale remodel. Although the open-concept office space is falling out of favor as more research finds it isn’t conducive to a more productive work environment, open-concept homes don’t face the same struggle because, although they can be used as workspaces, this is not their only purpose and they have far fewer people in them. Open-concept floorplans allow for multi-use residential spaces with numerous benefits and few of the drawbacks commercial floorplans might face.

But any new concept for a home has potential drawbacks along with the benefits. Below we’re going to look at a few of these to help you consider your home construction projects in Encino, CA.

Monday, April 1st, 2019

bathroom-green-tileOver the past few decades, a major design trend has changed the way residential bathrooms are constructed. Bathrooms were once designed as small spaces that could be easily tucked between the larger rooms in a house. The bathroom contained enough space to fit in a sink, toilet, and shower/tub combo, with only a small amount of floor space to move between them. Today, bathrooms are larger, more friendly and open spaces, often with double-sinks and larger, luxury showers.

What can you do for a bathroom remodel to create a greater sense of space? Or create actual space? Working with a skilled remodeling contractor will help you find the best methods for enlarging your bathroom.

Monday, February 6th, 2017

new-construction-ABC-Los-AngelesLos Angeles has lots of wonderful neighborhoods to explore, and one of our favorites is often overlooked. Encino, a Spanish term for “evergreen” or “holm oak,” was named after the beautiful oak trees found in the valley—or perhaps just one in particular. The Encino Oak Tree, also called the Lang Oak, was a 1,000 year-old tree, felled naturally in El Nino storms in 1998. However, you can still visit a monument in honor of this historic tree on the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Louise Ave.

There’s lots more you can do in Encino, though. Check out our favorite neighborhood hot spots and family hangouts, and visit Encino if you’re exploring the LA area.
